Victoria s Secret s Ad The Perfect Body Essay - 1228 Words
Victoriaââ¬â¢s Secretââ¬â¢s ad The Perfect â⬠Bodyâ⬠features ten young models each wearing a unique bra and panty set standing side by side. The target audience of the ad is Caucasian women ages 18 to 30 years old although the ad could be relevant to girls as young as 15 years old and as old as 40 years old. They are targeting them by featuring primarily young Caucasian women in their ad. While the ad appears to feature two non-Caucasian women, I believe this is a simple nod of inclusion as they are not representative of the diverse women in America. Both models have straightened hair and very European facial features. As a marketing ad, Victoriaââ¬â¢s Secret s The Perfect ââ¬Å"Bodyâ⬠ad is very effective. The beautiful girls in attractive bra and panty sets exude an unique mix of class and sexiness that it isn t easy to do. Even if you are not the size pictured or you do not have the same ââ¬Å"perfectâ⬠body type, you may believe that you can look sexy in their bra and panty sets. There is also a subconscious element that may lead some young women to feel good about their body and make them feel free to show their body off, if it matches the body type shown. The reverse of that is that for some women the ad would make them feel fat and want to keep their bodies covered up.
